My Experience with Grooming Dogs
For the past three years I’ve been grooming dogs of all shapes, sizes and breed type. This has allowed me to build up a wealth of experience to make sure your canine friend is groomed to an excellent standard whilst ensuring they are in safe and capable hands.
When your dog comes into the salon I will perform a coat check to make sure there are no sore lumps or bumps and to make sure the coat isn’t badly matted. The next stage of the process is to get your canine friend ready for the bath – I wash them using luxury or sensitive shampoos dependant on the skin of the dog. Next, it’s time for drying – I have a slow dryer and a blaster depending on how the dog is with drying I will use the dryer that makes your dog feel most comfortable. Finally, I will style your dog to the style of your preference. Nail Clipping and Ear Cleaning included with every groom.
Why do you need to groom your dog?
Dog grooming is an essential way to keep your dog clean and happy. Grooming your dog regularly will allow you to manage your canines cleanliness with ease and also undertake quick health checks to ensure your dog is as healthy as possible. In the UK, the majority of dogs live inside the home with their owners. This means they may moult faster than they were intended naturally. Moulted hair can quickly become matted if not brushed regularly which is why it is important to ensure your dog is groomed regularly so that any surplus hair can be taken away.
Dogs that live in Looe, or anywhere near the sea, are different to dogs that live more inland. Dogs that live near the sea are likely to get sand under their fur which may irritate them. It is good idea to get dogs that play on the beach groomed regularly so that these irritants can be removed. On our dog walking routes, we always ensure the dogs are well brushed down prior to being returned to their owner.
“Our old “labsation” Jet went for a groom recently at The Dog House”. She not only seemed to enjoy her time there, she came home looking & smelling fabulous.” – Naomi Sherwood, Looe
